Overview
The Infrastructure and Computing Technology Diploma focuses on how to design, configure and support global integrated computing infrastructure, including secure local and cloud-based systems. Course work stresses messaging principles and provides insight into wired, wireless and fibre-optic signal propagation. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared to establish a career as a certified technologist in the fields of local-area and wide-area voice, video and integrated data communications.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Okanagan College's Infrastructure and Computing Technology Diploma admits applicants with B.C. secondary-school graduation or the equivalent, and English 12 at a minimum of 60 per cent or an approved alternative. Mathematics requires 60 per cent in Pre-Calculus 12, Foundations of Mathematics 12, Principles of Mathematics 12, Applications of Mathematics 12, Okanagan College MATH 120, or Adult Basic Education MATH 012; or 67 per cent in the equivalent Grade 11 pre-calculus or principles courses; or 70 per cent on the college's own Mathematics 11 Proficiency Test. No IELTS, TOEFL or similar score is published. Applicants should already be comfortable with fundamental computer operating-system concepts and basic word-processing and spreadsheet use, with introductory computing courses recommended if not; Physics 11 or 12 is recommended but not required. Mature applicants (19 or older, out of full-time secondary study for a year or more) meet the same entrance standards as regular applicants.
