This 14-week certificate, delivered in a blended format combining face-to-face practical training with online coursework, trains students to safely operate heavy equipment including skid steers, compactors, loaders, dozers, graders, excavators and rubber-tired backhoes. The program runs over 12 weeks of instruction followed by a two-week, 80-hour practicum, and is approved by Alberta Advanced Education. Classes are scheduled Monday to Friday in two rotating groups. Multiple intakes are offered across the year, including Fall, Winter and Spring starts. The program combines classroom safety and operating theory with hands-on practice on a range of heavy equipment, preparing graduates for entry-level heavy equipment operator roles in construction, agriculture, and related industries requiring certified equipment operation skills. Multiple intakes run throughout the year, including Fall, Winter and Spring starts, with classes scheduled Monday to Friday in two rotating groups.
