The PhD in Nuclear Engineering at Ontario Tech University prepares graduates for careers in research, teaching and leadership roles in academia or industry, with specialized knowledge in areas such as nuclear power systems, reactor physics, health physics and energy applications. Students complete a combination of advanced coursework, independent research, research seminars, mandatory workshops, research publication and a research dissertation. Applicants must hold a Master of Applied Science level degree in engineering, and admission depends on a faculty member agreeing to supervise the applicant's research. Instruction is delivered in-class, and the programme normally takes about four years of full-time study to complete. Entry is available in the September, January or May terms, with tuition charged at the university's flat annual doctoral rate for domestic and international students.
