Overview
Economics (Political Science) is a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) specialization within Ontario Tech University's Political Science program, offered by the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. Delivered on campus on a full-time basis, with a September start, the specialization runs four years, or five years with the direct-entry co-op option. Students build a foundation in economic theory while examining how governments, institutions and political systems shape markets, public policy and global affairs, combining hands-on learning and applied research to develop skills in economic analysis, policy evaluation and critical thinking. The program prepares graduates to address economic, political and social challenges at the local, national and global level. Career paths include government, public policy, international organizations, consulting and research, in fields where combined economic and political insight informs decision-making. The co-op option provides full-time paid work terms throughout the degree.

Admission Requirements: Current Ontario secondary school students must complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six 4U or 4M courses, including English (ENG4U).
