Overview
Legal Studies - Accelerated UK LLB Pathway is a five-year, direct-entry Bachelor of Arts (Honours) offered by Ontario Tech University's Faculty of Social Science and Humanities in partnership with Teesside University (Middlesbrough, UK) or the University of Aberdeen (Scotland). Delivered on campus and off-site in the UK, full-time, with a September start, the pathway combines three years of Legal Studies coursework at Ontario Tech covering law, policy, ethics and the justice system with two years abroad completing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the partner institution. No LSAT is required; admission to the UK portion is based on academic performance, requiring a minimum cumulative B average (3.00 GPA) with no course grade below B- by the end of year three. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Legal Studies from Ontario Tech and an LLB, recognized as equivalent to a Canadian JD, and become eligible to write the National Committee on Accreditation exams required to practise law in Canada. Students complete a practicum placement with employers during their third year at Ontario Tech.

Admission Requirements: Current Ontario secondary school students must complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six 4U or 4M credits including English (ENG4U) and attain a minimum average of 80 per cent. By the end of the third year of study at Ontario Tech, students must achieve and maintain a minimum cumulative B average or 3.00 cumulative grade point average, with no individual course grade below a B- (70 per cent), to continue in the pathway.
