The Master of Science in Aging and Health is a full-time, 12-month program designed for working professionals and delivered in a blended format that combines online coursework with two short in-person intensives in Kingston, held in August and in late March or early April. The multidisciplinary program examines the process of aging and its effects on individuals, social systems, and health care, along with the policies needed to support healthy aging. Students complete three core courses (Evaluating Aging-Related Programs and Services, Ethics and Aging, and Issues in Aging and Health), four elective courses drawn from topics such as demography of aging, epidemiology of aging, pharmacology and aging, and mobility and functioning among older adults, and a required master's project completed over the program's three terms. Graduates are prepared to apply research and analytical skills to healthy-aging issues and to critically assess ethical dilemmas faced by older adults and their caregivers.
