Program details
Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies is a four-year degree that lets students combine courses across the humanities (Creative Arts, English, Film, History, Languages, Philosophy) and social sciences (Anthropology, Communication, Economics, Justice Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology) rather than following a single major. Students work with a faculty advisor to build an individualized program plan and have the option to minor in a humanities or social science discipline. Coursework covers ethics, leadership, and interdisciplinary problem-solving, developing skills in critical inquiry, research, and communication, and in analyzing issues from multiple perspectives. Graduation requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and completion of 120 credits. The program is delivered on campus at Red Deer Polytechnic, with intakes in Fall, Winter, and Spring terms, and is open to both domestic and international applicants.
