Aviation Certificate

The Aviation Certificate combines business coursework with flight training, leading to a Business Certificate from Red Deer Polytechnic and a Commercial Pilot Licence. The two-year, full-time program is delivered through a blended format combining classroom instruction with flight training through Sky Wings Aviation. Admission requires specific grades in Alberta Grade 12 English Language Arts and Mathematics; accounting and computer experience are recommended, and Mathematics 31 or Physics are assets but not required. Candidates must be cleared to Transport Canada Category 1 Commercial Pilot medical standards, and may be conditionally admitted pending a medical exam at registration. Applicants without a private pilot's licence can complete an accelerated six-week course through Sky Wings Aviation before or alongside their first academic term. The program runs with Fall and Winter intakes and is open to domestic and international applicants.
