Requirements
Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Alberta high school requires 60% in English Language Arts 30-1 or 65% in ELA 30-2, and 60% in Mathematics 30-1 or 65% in Math 30-2. Applicants may instead qualify through the ACCUPLACER placement test (minimum 250 Reading, 250 Writing, 5 on the WritePlacer essay, and 250 Arithmetic, valid within two years of the start date) or by completing Red Deer Polytechnic's own Business Diploma or an equivalent. Applicants whose first language is not English must show three years of full-time English-medium schooling in Canada or another English-speaking country, 60% in ELA 30-1/30-2, an approved pathway course (ILAC University Pathway Level 3.2/3.3 or ILAC@RDP Academic Preparation at 70%, or Robertson College IAE5 at 70%), or one of: IELTS Academic 6.5 (5.5 per band), TOEFL 83 iBT/557 PBT, PTE 59 (56 per band), Duolingo 115-125, or CAEL 60 (55 per band). A police information check is not required for admission but may be needed for practicum placements; five seats are designated for Indigenous applicants, who may also qualify for application-fee and deposit waivers.
