Collision Repair and Refinishing is a one-year certificate that builds a working knowledge of vehicle metalworking and spray painting. Students learn welding, sheet-metal work, body realignment, patching, and finishing techniques used to repair collision-damaged vehicles, along with paint preparation and application using environmentally friendly high-volume, low-pressure spray equipment and low-VOC products. Due to high demand, the program is a funded seat restricted to Manitoba residents. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires Grade 12 graduation, or final-year enrolment, including one credit each of Grade 12 English (40S), Grade 12 Math (40S), and Grade 10 Science (20F). Applicants aged 19 or older who have been out of high school for at least a year may qualify as mature students with one credit each of Grade 10 English (20F), Grade 10 Applied Math (20S) or Pre-Calculus Math (20S) or Grade 11 Consumer/Essential Math (30S), and Grade 10 Science (20F). Applicants who completed three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the US, or an ELR-exempt country in English meet the language requirement; others must submit one of RRC Polytech's approved certificate-level English assessments. Due to high demand, this funded program is open to Manitoba residents only.
