Red River College Polytechnic's Animation diploma builds essential 2D animation knowledge, skills, and technical abilities. The two-year, full-time program covers figure drawing, principles of animation, character design, storyboarding, concept design, background and prop creation, storytelling, and creative project management, while developing a foundation in animation theory. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must submit proof of graduation from or enrolment in Grade 12, including Grade 10 English (20S) and Grade 10 Math (20S), with final transcripts due by July 15 for fall enrolment if applying with proof of enrolment. Applicants must also submit a specified portfolio of artwork, including drawing, designing, and writing tasks, with instructions released each December; admission is competitive, with mandatory information sessions and offers made based on portfolio scores in descending order. English language requirements are met by three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the United States, or an ELR-exempt country where English was the language of instruction, or by an approved English language assessment. Mature applicants aged 19 or older who have been out of high school for at least one year may qualify with Grade 10 English (20S) and Grade 10 Math (20S), or completion of RRC's Introduction to Business program.
