Hairstyling is a one-year diploma delivered through hands-on, salon-based training at the South Winnipeg Campus (Henlow Bay), with fall intake running September to August and winter intake running January to December. The program provides comprehensive training in cutting, styling, colouring, chemical texture services, extensions, and facial grooming, with curriculum aligned to Apprenticeship Manitoba standards and current salon practices. About 70 percent of training is practical, with students spending most of their program time working directly with tools, clients, and real services in the college's teaching salon rather than in a lecture-based classroom setting. Coursework also builds salon operations, retail, and employability skills, preparing graduates for diverse career opportunities in the hairstyling industry, including the option of opening their own salon. The program admits two full-time cohorts a year, giving applicants a choice between a fall or winter start.
