Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology-Cell and Microbiology

Science Laboratory Technology – Cell and Microbiology is the second-year specialization of the Science Laboratory Technology diploma, following a common first year of foundational laboratory studies. The specialization provides advanced training in biochemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology, with final-term coursework introducing genomics and bioinformatics techniques. A co-op work-integrated learning placement gives students applied laboratory experience in a research or industry setting. Delivered full-time at the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg with a September intake, admission requires successful completion of the first year of the Science Laboratory Technology program. Graduates are prepared for roles as research technicians or associates in organizations engaged in research and development, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and academic research laboratories.
