Overview
This program leads to a Master of Science in Physics at the Royal Military College of Canada, offered by the Department of Physics and Space Science. Two programme patterns are available: a thesis option requiring at least four graduate courses plus a research thesis, and a project option requiring at least eight graduate courses plus a research project; a full-time student in the residential programme normally requires five academic terms, or two academic years including the intervening summer, to complete either pattern. Graduate research and coursework span three specializations: acoustics and oceanography, space science, and materials science, with courses covering acoustic propagation, radio astronomy, electromagnetic theory, ferroelectric transduction materials, astrodynamics, satellite communication and navigation, space weather, and space mission analysis and design. All students must complete a zero-credit academic integrity course (AI500) by the end of their first term. The program is delivered on campus at RMC's Kingston site.
