Overview
A six-month blended graduate certificate giving practising and emerging leaders a practical foundation in core leadership skills. Coursework explores the connections between communication, processes, knowledge, metrics and people practices, and pairs market-tested leadership tools with hands-on application so students can strengthen organizational culture and shape strategic direction. The centrepiece is the Leadership Challenge, in which student teams work with a real organization on a current problem; that applied project work, combined with teamwork and guided study, builds the capacity to lead in complex environments. Students choose where to complete the one-week intensive residency, either on the Colwood campus in British Columbia or at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires completion of a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with some related experience, typically a minimum of two years in leadership, management, communication, training, marketing or consulting roles. Flexible admission applies to applicants with a minimum of three full-time years of relevant work experience and some post-secondary education, evaluated individually on work, life, volunteer and academic background. The programme page defers to Royal Roads University's institution-wide English language requirement for applicants whose first language is not English or who were not educated in English: for third-year-entry and graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking. Applicants also submit official transcripts, a one-page personal statement, a detailed résumé and two reference letters.

RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
