Overview
The Certificate in Retail Management augments Bachelor of Commerce majors at Saint Mary's University with focused study in retail management issues and methods. The multidisciplinary curriculum draws on consumer psychology, retailing, operations management, human resources, and data science, and makes use of the David Sobey Retailing Centre's mock retail store and biometrics lab; each course includes a project with a real-world retail company. Students complete 18 credit hours, covering supply chain management, retail management, digital marketing or omnichannel retailing, retail and marketing analytics, and category management or retail innovations. A minimum of nine of the 18 credit hours must be earned at Saint Mary's University, and a minimum GPA of 2.0 out of 4.3 is required to graduate with the certificate. The certificate is open only to students currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program and cannot be completed on its own.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Students currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program are eligible to pursue the Certificate in Retail Management concurrently with their degree; it cannot be completed independently of the BComm program.
