Overview
SAIT's Audio and Creative Media diploma is a two-year, full-time program that develops technical audio production skills alongside storytelling craft for creative careers in sound. Students explore the art and science of sound, learn to design, edit, and produce content for diverse audiences across traditional and emerging platforms, and work in professional recording studios creating podcasts and paired audio-video content. Instruction combines hands-on studio work with collaborative project development, preparing graduates for roles such as audio engineer, sound designer, radio producer, radio host, media specialist, and content creator across radio, gaming, virtual reality, and branded content. Students who complete SAIT's Digital Media Production certificate can gain advanced standing into the program's second year. Classes are delivered in person at SAIT's Main Campus, and no textbooks are required.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants educated in Canada must demonstrate English language proficiency and completion of at least 60% in English 30-1 or 30-2, and at least 60% in Math 20-1 or 20-2, or equivalents, or successful completion of SAIT's Digital Media Production certificate for advanced standing into the second year. SAIT accepts recognized high school course equivalents for applicants educated outside Alberta. Applicants educated outside of Canada must demonstrate English language proficiency and provide an international document assessment confirming they meet the program's admission requirements.
