Cert in Career Essentials

Career Essentials is a 20-week applied certificate at Saskatchewan Polytechnic that prepares students with foundational skills for the workplace. Coursework covers digital and computer skills, keyboarding, skills assessment, career goal-setting, and broader essential skills development, along with job search strategies. The program includes an on-site work placement with a local employer, giving students practical exposure to a workplace setting. Enrolment is generally limited to students sponsored through funding arrangements, and tuition and fees for those students are covered by sponsoring bodies or contractual arrangements. Admission uses an open-access model; sponsored students must complete a pre-program skills assessment and be unemployed or underemployed Saskatchewan residents who are legally entitled to work in Canada. Applicants must also meet Saskatchewan Polytechnic's English Language Requirement.
