Overview
The Esthetician-Nail Technician program is a 14-week, on-campus certificate delivered through evening classes at Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Prince Albert campus and the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Salon & Spa. Students train in manicuring, pedicuring, nail art, and the application of gel and acrylic nails and nail wraps, alongside instruction in salon management, communication, and customer service skills. The program admits students in September and January and leads to a Certificate of Achievement. Admission requires Grade 10, along with Saskatchewan Polytechnic's English language proficiency requirement; applicants who do not hold the standard academic credential may qualify through an alternate admission assessment, and prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) is also accepted. A part-time option is available, letting students register in individual courses and apply separately to graduate. The program is not eligible for the Canada-Saskatchewan student loan program. Saskatchewan Polytechnic's institution-wide English Language Requirement applies: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with 5.0 per component, TOEFL iBT 81 overall with 19 per skill, PTE Academic 63 overall with 50 per component, Duolingo English Test 110, or CAEL 60 overall with 50 per component. Applicants who do not hold Grade 10 may qualify through an alternate admission assessment. Admission runs First Qualified/First Admitted, with applications opening September 1 each year for the September or January intake at the Prince Albert campus.
