Cert in Library Clerk

This 18-credit applied certificate, delivered entirely online, provides entry-level training in library skills and knowledge. Coursework covers children's and young adult materials and services, library programming, public relations, reader's advisory, and information resources. All courses in the certificate are transferable into Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Library and Information Technology diploma, allowing graduates to continue toward the diploma if they choose. The program admits students in September and January. Admission requires Grade 12 and the institution's English Language Requirement; applicants without the standard credential may qualify through the ACCUPLACER placement test or with 15 approved post-secondary credits. The program is not eligible for the Canada-Saskatchewan student loan program. It suits learners seeking entry-level positions in public, school, or special libraries, or a foundation before pursuing the full diploma.
