This one-year certificate runs 34 weeks full time on campus at the Saskatoon and Regina campuses. Students train on lathes, mills, drill presses, surface grinders, CNC lathes, and machining centres, with instruction in blueprint reading, CNC operation, lathe and milling operations, and materials selection. The CNC component is delivered in a blended format, and the program includes online learning alongside industry-based work experience. The program admits students each August. Admission requires Grade 12 and the institution's English Language Requirement; applicants without the standard credential may qualify through the ACCUPLACER placement test or with 15 approved post-secondary credits. Graduates are prepared for entry-level machinist roles in manufacturing and related industries, working with a range of conventional and computer-controlled machine tools and equipment used on modern shop floors.
