Overview
This two-year diploma is a 1,500-hour pre-employment program required for legal trade practice as a hairstylist in Saskatchewan. Coursework covers cutting, colouring, highlighting, texture services and styling techniques for hair, with an introduction to wigs, hairpieces, skin and nails, alongside artistry, salon management, and customer service and communication skills. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires Grade 12, plus Saskatchewan Polytechnic's institution-wide English Language Requirement (IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with 5.0 per band, TOEFL iBT 81 overall with 19 per skill, PTE Academic 63 overall with 50 per component, Duolingo English Test 110, or CAEL 60 overall with 50 per component). Applicants who do not meet the standard qualifications can also be assessed through ACCUPLACER. Admission is First Qualified/First Admitted, with applications opening September 1 annually for the September intake.
