Overview

The one-year certificate gives students hands-on experience building, diagnosing and repairing cars and trucks, covering electrical, electronic and emission components and systems, automotive engine components, drive train, suspension and steering systems, and brake components and systems. Students use test equipment to assess automotive electronic circuits and vehicle systems and apply automotive hydraulics and pneumatics to inspecting and testing motive-power subsystems, working in classrooms laid out to simulate an actual repair shop and covering aspects of the automotive service business alongside software simulations and hardware trainers.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires only an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or mature student status, per the programme page; no specific course, grade, or GPA requirement is listed beyond the general OSSD/mature-applicant policy described on Sault College's admission requirements page.
