Micro-credential in Wildfire Fighter Training Program Micro-credential

Admission Requirements: In addition to meeting Selkirk College's general admission requirements (a BC senior secondary diploma or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older, under Policy 8611: Admissions), this Wildfire Fighter Training micro-credential is bound by WorkSafeBC's minimum age of 18 to operate a chainsaw or undertake other high-risk workplace activities that its core courses require. No specific academic grades, GPA, or English-language test score are published beyond the college's general admission standard. The micro-credential must be completed within two years of the registration date, and candidates must complete all core courses plus one specialization course to qualify; core content includes first-aid/CPR training (airway, breathing and circulatory emergencies) and patient-transport skills, though these do not cover airway management or oxygen use.
