Overview
Important: The Early Childhood Education (Accelerated) program is unavailable. If you are interested in pursuing this credential, our Early Childhood Education program is still available. Current part-time students in the accelerated program can continue taking courses in the accelerated format until August 2026. Beginning Fall 2026, any remaining courses must be completed through the Early Childhood Education program. If you've completed an undergraduate degree or three-year diploma from a recognized postsecondary institution in Ontario or have a degree evaluated for Canadian equivalency, you may be eligible to earn your accelerated Early Childhood Education diploma in three terms.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or assessment as a mature applicant, plus English at Grade 12 C or U level or equivalent. Because this is the accelerated route, applicants must also hold prior postsecondary study: an Ontario university or college degree or equivalent, an Ontario college diploma or equivalent, or at least two years of successful postsecondary credits; high-school graduates without that prior study are directed to Seneca's standard Early Childhood Education program instead. Domestic applicants with non-Canadian credentials must obtain a course-by-course credential assessment (WES or ICAS). English proficiency is demonstrated through a completed postsecondary credential from an English-medium institution or by completing COM101; no standardized test score (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/Duolingo) is stated on the program's pages for this admission route.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) apply through OntarioColleges.ca. For the September 2027 intake, OCAS opens for applications on 1 October 2026, the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, first offers go out from 1 November 2026, and the earliest confirmation deadline is 1 May 2027 with a CAD 200 deposit due the second Wednesday of June 2027. The January 2027 and May 2027 intakes opened on 1 October 2025 and carry no equal-consideration date, with earliest confirmation deadlines of 1 November 2025 and 1 March 2027. International applicants apply directly to Seneca, are assessed on a rolling basis with no fixed closing date, and are admitted up to the first day of classes or until a program fills, whichever comes first. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
