Overview
Work-term stream of the two-year Mechanical Technician – CNC Programming diploma, combining hands-on training in CNC machining, CAD/CAM and advanced manufacturing with a work placement similar in length to an academic semester that may be paid or unpaid. Seneca lists this stream as the Work Term Option (MTCPW): eligibility requirements must be maintained, additional fees apply and the job search is student-driven with in-class career workshops and one-on-one coaching; students can transfer to the non-work-term stream at any time.

Admission Requirements: Domestic admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or acceptance as a mature applicant, plus English at the Grade 12 C or U level and Mathematics at Grade 12 C or U or Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U), or equivalent courses. Canadian citizens and permanent residents short of the English and/or mathematics prerequisites may instead qualify by passing Seneca's pre-admission test, and the college directs applicants who do not meet the subject requirements to upgrading options. International applicants must additionally meet Seneca's own published English-language requirement, with further documents or assessments requested where needed; neither this program's page nor its admission-requirements page states an IELTS, TOEFL, or other numeric test score, or a minimum grade average. International applicants apply directly to Seneca, are assessed on a rolling basis with no fixed closing date, and are admitted up to the first day of classes or until a program fills, whichever comes first.
