At Sheridan College in Oakville, Canada, Game Engineering, Honours Bachelor of Computer Science (Degree Completion) is offered as a bachelor's degree in Digital Media & Game Development programme. The programme is delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 23,010 per year (CAD 8,488 per year for local students).
Game engineering is one of several specializations within this degree, introduced in a first year that also covers programming, networks, mathematics, scripting and database modelling across all specialization tracks. Students specializing in game engineering go on to complete eight further courses in that field, within a curriculum where core courses make up more than 80 percent of content. A four-month internship, or alternatively a paid co-op of up to sixteen months, is available between the third and fourth years, alongside the option to support applied research projects. The fourth year offers a choice between a capstone project addressing a real problem, which may involve an external client, and a thesis for students planning graduate study. Shared core courses with the Mobile Computing specialization allow a switch between the two after two years with only two further courses, and the degree is accepted for graduate admission in Canada and internationally.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This is the Honours Bachelor of Computer Science Degree Completion pathway. Sheridan graduates of an eligible applied-computing diploma — Computer Programming, Computer Systems Technician (Software Engineering), or Computer Systems Technology (Analysis and Design) — with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B/70%) enter at Year 2 and complete two to three reach-back courses depending on their prior program; graduates of equivalent diplomas from other Ontario colleges are assessed on the same GPA basis. Sheridan Advanced Diploma graduates of Computer Systems Technology – Software Development and Network Engineering (PCSSC) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B/70%) may instead enter directly at Year 3. Applicants with one or more completed years of a related computer science or software engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited institution need a GPA of 2.5 (C+/65%) or better for Year 2 or Year 3 entry. Sheridan's institution-wide English proficiency requirement for degree and graduate-certificate programs applies to applicants whose first language is not English: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no section below 21 (a redesigned iBT scale applies from 2026), PTE Academic 60 with no section below 57, Duolingo English Test 115 with no subscore below 95, or CAEL 70 with no section below 60.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting in Fall 2027 the application opened 26 September 2026, the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, and offers can go out from 1 November 2026, with portfolio- and audition-based programmes deciding later in March; accepted offers must be confirmed by 1 May 2027. Winter and Spring/Summer 2027 entry use the same portal but Sheridan publishes no fixed equal-consideration date for them and reviews those on an ongoing basis. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
