Electromechanical Engineering Technology is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma at Sheridan College that deepens the automation and robotics knowledge covered in the two-year Electromechanical Engineering Technician diploma. Students take further courses in programmable logic controllers, robotic programming and applications, electropneumatics, fluid power, HVAC, computer-integrated manufacturing and 3D modelling. The program culminates in a final-semester capstone project in which students work with fellow engineering students to provide solutions for industry partners, with an optional paid co-op placement providing up to one year of real-world experience. Graduates complete all academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), and may transfer into the third year of Sheridan's Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree or degree programs at other universities, with some bridge courses required.
