Overview

Mechanical Engineering Technology is an Ontario College Advanced Diploma delivered over six academic semesters, with two paid co-op work terms integrated into the program schedule. The first two years build a foundation in mechanical engineering principles, followed by specialized subjects in the final semesters, including mechanical design, machine kinematics and dynamics, programmable controllers, fluid mechanics, and energy systems. Laboratory training takes place at Sheridan's Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing, working in labs designed to reflect real workplace conditions. Graduates complete the academic requirements for personal certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and may transfer into the third year of Sheridan's Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree.
