Mechanical Engineering Technician is an Ontario College Diploma program spanning four semesters across two academic years. The curriculum builds foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering through mathematics and science courses alongside advanced subjects including differential calculus, engineering statics and dynamics, mechanics of materials, fluid power, electro-pneumatics, motors and controls, and mechanical manufacturing processes. Students also study CNC machine tools, computer-assisted 3D design, engineering materials testing, and quality and statistical control, working in laboratories supervised by professors with industrial experience. Graduates have gone on to roles such as quality control technician, production technician, process control technician, and computer-assisted manufacturing technician across manufacturing and industrial settings.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U) and One Math, Grade 12 (U) or Math Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology (MCT4C), or mature student status. Applicants who do not meet these requirements may be invited to complete pre-admission tests in mathematics and English.
