Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician – Design

Mechanical Engineering Technician – Design is an Ontario College Diploma delivered over four semesters across two academic years, with semester credit loads ranging from 21 to 23 credits. Students develop mechanical design and manufacturing skills applicable to aerospace, energy, automotive, biotechnology, robotics, and building-facilities sectors, studying specialized design functions through project-based laboratory assignments that simulate real-world engineering work environments. The curriculum builds technical competency in mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes used across multiple industries. Graduates may enter the workforce directly in design or manufacturing support roles, or progress into the third year of Sheridan's Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design advanced diploma program to continue their studies toward an advanced diploma credential.
