Visual Merchandising Design is a two-year Ontario College Diploma at Sheridan College's Hazel McCallion Campus covering the design, creation, and management of physical and digital retail content. Students learn how brands attract consumers and motivate purchases, moving beyond traditional window displays and pop-up shops into broader visual communication and retail environments. Coursework builds skills in display design, styling, retail space planning, and digital merchandising, combined with an understanding of consumer behaviour and brand strategy. Studio-based projects give students hands-on practice building portfolios that reflect current retail and visual communication trends. Graduates are prepared for roles such as visual merchandiser, display coordinator, retail stylist, and brand or marketing assistant within retail, fashion, and design industries. Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma including Grade 12 English, or mature student status, with selection based on an applicant's six highest senior-level credits. The program is delivered on campus.
