Overview
The Computing Science & Engineering Dual Degree Program (with Zhejiang University in China) allows you to gain knowledge across theoretical and applied areas of computer science (programming, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity) and master the principles of finance and economy. You'll earn a Bachelor's Degree from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Finance from Zhejiang University in five years, also having the opportunity to partake in internship experiences. You'll gain international experience and network in both Canada and China, preparing you for careers in data science, blockchain development, finance, cybersecurity, and more.

Admission Requirements: Students enter the BSc/BEng dual-degree option upon recommendation of Zhejiang University's College of Computer Science and Technology, so admission runs through that partner-institution pathway rather than SFU's standard direct-entry process, and the Calendar does not publish a separate admission GPA or English-language test score for entry into the option itself. Once admitted, students must maintain at least a 2.40 cumulative grade point average to avoid academic probation and continue in the program. The Calendar distinguishes this BSc/BEng route from SFU's separate BSc/Master of Finance dual-degree option with Zhejiang, which follows its own, more detailed competitive admission procedure rather than this ZJU-recommendation pathway.

Fall 2027 entry: high-school-route applications open 1 October 2026 and close 31 January 2027, while transfer applications open 1 March 2027 and close 15 April 2027 (Education and Contemporary Arts transfer applicants may apply from 1 October 2026). Spring 2027 entry runs 1 July to 15 September 2026, and Summer 2027 entry runs 1 December 2026 to 15 January 2027. Admission documents are generally due 28 February 2027 (Fall) and offers must be accepted by 1 May.
