Education: Bachelor's Degree (BEd)

Admission Requirements: Students apply for admission to the Bachelor of Education program once they have accrued a total of 60 units, after which their program must be approved by the Faculty of Education, with any major or minor separately approved by the relevant department. Applicants may enter with advanced standing for up to 60 units of transfer credit (excluding professional-education courses), or up to 90 units if an acceptable year of professional-education coursework is included. Admission also requires successful completion of a Criminal Record Check, and admission to either the Professional Development Program (PDP) or Professional Linking Program (PLP). The page does not state a minimum entering GPA or language-test scores for initial admission, though students must maintain a cumulative and upper-division GPA of at least 2.0 to complete the program. English-language proficiency for the underlying SFU admission follows the general scale, e.g. IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0.
