Overview
The Nursing degree program is designed to prepare students to provide nursing care in a variety of settings. Graduates will work within the scope of nursing practice and in accordance with the regulations of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Nursing students will be able to care for individual clients or groups, including family members and significant others. Students will make clinical decisions and exercise judgement in giving care to clients. Graduates will be eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurse (NCLEX - RN) to achieve professional status of Registered Nurse in Canada.

Admission Requirements: Entry is restricted to Registered Practical Nurses: applicants must hold a Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing, have worked a minimum of 2000 hours as an RPN (documented by an employer letter or Record of Employment), and have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in their undergraduate Practical Nursing programme with at least a 'C' in every theory course and 'Satisfactory' in every clinical course; upgrading courses afterward to raise the GPA is not accepted, and a completed Pathway Applicant Profile Form plus transcripts (for diplomas earned elsewhere) are required. The programme is oversubscribed and ranks candidates by Practical Nursing GPA, excluding Pre-Health Sciences coursework. As a Bachelor's-level pathway, St. Clair's higher-tier English requirement applies: IELTS Academic/General 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 91 with no section below 22, PTE Academic 70, CAEL 70, CELPIP General 8.0 in each module, or Duolingo 120, within two years.
