Trades - Apprenticeship in Plumber Apprenticeship

The Plumber Apprenticeship at St. Lawrence College delivers the in-school training component of the Ontario apprenticeship program for the plumbing trade. The program covers the theory and techniques needed to install industrial and residential plumbing systems, mainly in new buildings. Training is organized into three levels, each delivered in-person at the Kingston campus in 8-to-9-week blocks, alongside the required on-the-job or practical component of the trade, with the full apprenticeship taking approximately five years in total. Apprentices must be sponsored by an employer and registered with Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development before beginning the in-school levels. On completing all three levels and the required on-the-job hours, apprentices become eligible to write the Certificate of Qualification exam for the plumbing trade. Graduates receive a Statement of Achievement/College Certificate for each level completed while working toward journeyperson certification.
