Trades - Apprenticeship in Carpenter Apprenticeship

This program delivers the in-school study portion of the General Carpenter apprenticeship for students already registered and working in the trade, at the Kingston campus School of Skilled Trades. Each of the three levels runs as a nine-to-eleven-week in-school block, delivered in person, and completion of a level earns a Statement of Achievement or College Certificate. After completing all three levels and the required on-the-job hours, apprentices become eligible to write the Certificate of Qualification exam for carpentry. The program is partially funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. Admission requires apprentices to be sponsored by an employer and registered with the same ministry; there is no separate academic application, as apprentices alternate between in-school training and on-the-job work with their sponsoring employer.
