Overview
Applied Commerce Education is a joint diploma/degree program offered by RRC Polytech and The University of Winnipeg that prepares students to teach business and information communication technology in the public school system. Coursework covers accounting, entrepreneurship, economics, marketing, management, information communication technologies, multimedia, and animation, together with curriculum development and teaching methodology. The program is available as a five-year Integrated route studied concurrently at both institutions, a three-year After Degree route for students who already hold an undergraduate degree, or a one-year Accelerated route for those who already hold a Bachelor of Education. Graduates of the full program receive a diploma in Applied Commerce from RRC Polytech together with a Bachelor of Arts or Science and a Bachelor of Education from The University of Winnipeg. As of the 2026/2027 academic year, the program is undergoing renewal and is not accepting new applications.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the entrance requirements for the Faculty of Education at The University of Winnipeg. Those who do not meet the standard requirements but are 21 years of age or older by December 31 of their year of admission may apply as special admission students. Applicants whose first language is not English, and who are not from an English-exempt country, must meet the university's general English-language proficiency requirement. The program was not accepting new applications for the 2026/2027 academic year while it undergoes renewal.
