Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Honours or 4-year Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent degree with a suitable selection of courses, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.5. Applicants to the thesis track must have a thesis supervisor selected prior to admission; the course-based track requires no faculty consultation. Applicants may also be admitted after completing a pre-Master's program through the Applied Computer Science department. Applicants whose first language is not English follow the university's graduate English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall; TOEFL iBT 4.5 overall with no component below 4.0; Duolingo English Test 120; Pearson PTE Academic 58; CAEL 60 (CAEL online 70); LanguageCert Academic 67; or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 180. The application (uwinnipeg.ca/apply-to-grad-studies) must include transcripts from every post-secondary institution attended, two letters of recommendation, English test scores where applicable, and a statement of interest, sent to the Graduate Studies Admissions Office. Application deadlines are February 1 for the September intake and July 1 for the January intake.
