Route one is general university studies of 54 to 60 credits that must cover three named courses - SOCW 2060, Introduction to Social Work Practice; ENGL 1100, Introduction to University Writing; and SOCW 2120, Introduction to Social Welfare in Canada. Route two is completion of Thompson Rivers University's Human Service Diploma, or of an approved Human Service or Social Service Work diploma taken elsewhere. Your last 24 credits must carry a minimum GPA of 2.33 (C+). The degree is nationally accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education and includes two social work practicums. TRU lists the program as open to international applicants and publishes one set of academic requirements for both applicant types.
