Overview

Admission Requirements: Direct entry to first year (full-time, 4-year) requires the OSSD with six Grade 12 U or M courses, including English (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred) at a minimum of 70%, and an overall average of at least 70%, which can run higher in competitive years; holders of a Social Service Worker or Human Service(s) Counsellor diploma from an eligible Canadian college cannot apply to this route and must instead apply for Advanced Standing to second year, which requires that diploma with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) or higher and under two years of related paid full-time experience. A part-time Advanced Standing route into third year admits a humanities/social-sciences degree or an eligible diploma, each plus two or more years of relevant work experience, a 'B' or higher in the prerequisite course CVSW15A/B, and (for diploma holders) a 3.0 GPA, alongside references, a resume, employment letters and a 500-700 word statement of intent. Application Deadline:Toronto Metropolitan University sets one guaranteed-consideration date for both domestic and international applicants applying for Fall 2027 entry: complete applications and amendments received by 1 February 2027 receive equal consideration for admission, and TMU says this same date applies to 'all domestic & international applicants.' Non-academic ('Grades-Plus') requirements are generally due around this point too, though the exact date varies by programme. For Winter 2027 (January-start) entry, TMU's program-status page gives domestic applicants a guaranteed-consideration date of 1 December 2026, with most programmes closing applications in mid-December; a limited number of programmes separately accept international applications for winter admission subject to space availability, but TMU publishes no fixed closing date for those international winter applicants. Admission is not rolling: late applications are considered only as space allows after the guaranteed-consideration date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
