Program details
Overview
This is the Post-Professional Master of Interior Design, a one-year, full-time graduate program offered through The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University for students who already hold an accredited undergraduate degree in interior design, such as a Bachelor of Interior Design, Bachelor of Design or Bachelor of Architecture, or who hold professional licensure through the NCIDQ exam. The program is designed to build advanced design skills and respond to the evolving needs of the interior design industry, with a curriculum drawing on research areas such as adaptive re-use, design futures, emerging design technologies, material systems, narrative design, social justice in design and sustainable design. It runs alongside the university's separate two-year, first-professional Master of Interior Design program, which is open to holders of any undergraduate degree. Graduates are prepared for professional practice and academic positions, in a field the program describes as being in high demand for those holding a Master of Interior Design credential.
