Trent University's Data Science program is a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, offered through the Department of Computer Science, that prepares students for work in data science and big data analytics across a range of application domains. Students build competency in data analysis and statistical and information management techniques, including programming, data visualization, and predictive modelling. A distinctive feature of the program is that students select an application focus, such as business, economics, environmental science, history, mathematics, or sociology, in which to apply their data analytics skills. Combining core computing and statistical training with a chosen application domain, the program suits students aiming for analyst, data science, or research roles, or further graduate study, within a specific subject area rather than computing alone.
