The Postgraduate Certificate in Accounting & Computer Science is offered at Trent University's Peterborough campus to graduates who hold an undergraduate degree in a subject other than accounting from an accredited university. This four-term program covers the undergraduate accounting courses required by CPA Ontario while building computer science knowledge, preparing graduates to work in accounting, enrol in accredited graduate accounting programs, or enter the CPA Professional Education Program. The program consists of 10.0 credits: 7.0 credits in Administrative Studies (ADMN), 1.5 credits in Computing & Information Systems (COIS), and 1.5 credits in Economics (ECON). CPA Ontario requires a grade of at least 50% in non-core courses and at least 60% in core courses, with an overall average of 65% in core courses required for entry to the CPA Professional Education Program; a minimum cumulative average of 60% is required to graduate. The program is available full-time to domestic and international students and part-time to domestic students only. Trent graduates may apply up to 1.0 credit from their undergraduate degree toward the certificate, and up to 1.0 credit may be applied toward an additional postgraduate certificate.
