Overview
The Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence & Financial Analytics is a four-term program offered at Trent University's Durham GTA campus to graduates who hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited university. The program covers fundamental concepts and methodologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and human-computer interaction, the history, social and political impacts, ethics, privacy, bias, and limitations of AI, and the application of AI to finance and communications, equipping students with economic reasoning and computational tools for problems in the financial sector. The certificate consists of 9.0 credits: 5.0 credits in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AIST), 0.5 credits in Computing & Information Systems (COIS), 2.0 credits in Economics (ECON), and 1.5 credits in Finance (FINA). A minimum cumulative average of 60% is required to graduate with the certificate. The program is available full-time to domestic and international students and part-time to domestic students only. Students who hold a Trent University undergraduate degree may apply up to 1.0 credit from that degree toward the certificate.
