Overview

Arts Management is a Master of Arts Management offered at Trent University as a course-based graduate program. It is designed for students considering a career in arts management and administration, and for practising professionals who want to advance their skills and knowledge of the field. Students build scholarly knowledge, applied skills, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities through required coursework, followed by a culminating co-op placement with an arts organization, government department, public agency, or cultural enterprise. The co-op placement is paired with a required research report. The program totals 6.0 credits, comprising 4.0 required credits, 0.5 co-op credits, 1.0 capstone credit, and 0.5 elective credits. Full-time students normally complete the program in twelve months, with a single intake each September. Admission requires an upper-second-class standing (77% or B+ at Trent) or equivalent in an Honours BA or BSc degree, and students must maintain at least a B- (70%) in each graduate course to remain in good standing.
