The Master of Divinity in Counselling is a 27-course, three-year seminary program at Tyndale University that prepares graduates for clinical counselling or church ministry settings. Students study interpersonal conflict, couple and family therapy, depression, abuse, at-risk youth, suicidal ideation, and grief, choosing between a Clinical Counselling Track and a Pastoral Counselling Track. An internship is a required component for completing the credential. The concentration is also offered as a one-year, nine-course Graduate Diploma or a two-year, eighteen-course Master of Theological Studies in Counselling. Fall-term applications must be submitted by April 15, with a March 1 deadline for special-admissions candidates. The program combines the general Master of Divinity curriculum in biblical studies, theology, and ministry preparation with counselling-specific coursework, and is delivered through Tyndale Seminary in Toronto.
