Overview
This graduate program leads to a Master's degree in biomedical engineering, delivered full-time on Université de Montréal's Montreal campus in collaboration with Polytechnique Montréal and the Faculty of Medicine. Requirements
Admission Requirements: This programme does not publish a minimum grade-point average or a supplementary language-test score, so admission draws on Universite de Montreal's general graduate-level requirements alongside programme-specific documents. All applicants need a relevant bachelor's degree; requirements then vary by track. The General (research) option requires a signed letter of acceptance from a research director specifying funding arrangements before an offer is finalised, and an admissible file does not by itself guarantee a place. The General (internship/directed-work) and Clinical Engineering options instead require a CV, an optional letter of recommendation, and a structured presentation letter showing background in engineering, physics, mechanics, mathematics or programming, and physiology or biochemistry; the Clinical Engineering option additionally expects familiarity with systems physiology and technology (GBM 3000). Because instruction is in French, applicants schooled in another language must meet UdeM's institution-wide French requirement (DELF B2, DALF C1/C2, TEF or TCF, scored on the average of oral and written comprehension, results within 24 months) or show recognised French-medium schooling. The programme requires a minimum of three full-time trimesters, typically about two years.
