This Master's in Geography is a 45-credit graduate program offering two pathways: a thesis-based track preparing students for research or postsecondary teaching, and a stage-based track leading to project-management or professional roles in public or private organizations. Coursework spans physical and human geography, including ecosystem dynamics, biogeochemistry, climate science, political and economic geography, and geospatial methods such as GIS and remote sensing, with research areas covering climate change, urban dynamics, water governance, forest management, migration, and natural hazards. The program is based at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, with access to geomatics facilities at the MIL campus, and offers optional international study exchanges. It can be completed full-time or part-time, with day classes. Admission requires a bachelor's degree, a curriculum vitae, and a supplementary admission form; two letters of recommendation are required unless the applicant completed an undergraduate degree in geography at the University of Montreal. Thesis-track applicants must have a confirmed research supervisor before being admitted. Entry is offered for the Summer, Fall, and Winter terms.
