Overview
The Baccalaureat en geomatique appliquee a l'environnement is a bachelor of science at Universite de Sherbrooke combining geography and computing to train specialists in the production, analysis and dissemination of geospatial data about natural and human environments. Over 90 credits, students first complete a common core in geography, earth science and geospatial data science, then choose among a general pathway, a geo-informatics pathway emphasizing technical skills, a geo-environment pathway emphasizing decision support, or a pathway combining geomatics with a related discipline such as biology, economics or political studies. Coursework covers GNSS positioning, remote sensing, spatial databases, image processing and digital cartography, applied to challenges such as natural-resource management, geohazards and climate-change adaptation. The programme is offered in a regular or cooperative-education format, full-time or part-time, at the Sherbrooke campus, with admission each fall and winter term. It is open to international students in the regular stream and prepares graduates for professional geomatics practice or further study in science, engineering or the social sciences.

Admission Requirements: General admission requirements for the university's first-cycle (undergraduate) programmes apply. Applicants pursuing the related-discipline pathway must also meet the admission conditions of the certificate from which the recognized courses are drawn; DEC-technique holders should consult the university's published DEC-to-bachelor's bridging arrangements. All admitted students must demonstrate a very good command of French, proven either by exemption or by achieving level B2 (at least 400 out of 699 across listening, reading, speaking and writing) on a recognized test.
